PCWS kicks off its Spring 2017 season with a reading by Maggie Nelson

Essayist, critic, poet, and lyric polemicist Maggie Nelson will be the first reader in the Spring 2017 season of the Pittsburgh Contemporary Writing Series. Nelson's books include The Argonauts, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award in Criticism and a New York Times best seller; Bluets, which Bookforum named one of the ten best books of the past twenty years; The Art of Cruelty: A Reckoning, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year; The Red Parts, and Women, the New York School, and Other True Abstractions. She is a recipient of a 2012 Creative Capital Literature Fellowship, a 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship in Nonfiction, an NEA Fellowship in Poetry, an Andy Warhol Foundation/Creative Capital Arts Writers Grant, and a MacArthur Fellowship.
