Katja Schambre

Nonfiction

Katja Schambre isn't sure anymore what it actually means to be a “nonfiction writer,” but, on paper at least (pun intended), she is that. She is also a queer, transgender woman from Orlando, Florida; a teacher from a family of teachers; a socialist, a union organizer and a doting mother to her two cats, Eli and Palmer.

At any given moment she is (or ought to be) chipping away at her own work, a linked collection of essays about transitions, in-between-ness and mourning, set along the fluxional Danube corridor of central Europe.
