Kiera O'Brien

Poetry

Kiera O’Brien is a writer and multimedia artist from Santa Fe, New Mexico. A United World College Davis Scholar, she studied in Wales for two years before earning a B.A. in human ecology from College of the Atlantic, Maine. She is a frequent collaborator with international performance collective Mammalian Diving Reflex, and over the past five years she has co-directed performances for the Triennale Milano, Wanås Konst Center for Arts & Learning, Baltic Circle Theatre Festival, and elsewhere. She discovered a passion for independent publishing and the book arts during her tenure as managing editor of Bateau Press, and from 2019-2020 she studied letterpress printing as a shop intern at Expedition Press in Kingston, WA. 

Kiera is a 2020-2021 Dietrich Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is pursuing an MFA in poetry. Her work tends towards hybridity and the off-kilter and cannot currently be found anywhere on the internet.
