Cedric Rudolph

Cedric Rudolph—since moving from Alabama to Pennsylvania in 2016—has sought to teach in both traditional and nontraditional classrooms. While pursuing an MFA in Poetry and Pedagogy at Chatham University, he taught writing to the adult population at Allegheny County Jail through Chatham’s Words Without Walls Program. He taught middle-and-high-school writers for three years at the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School (CAPA 6-12). Over the past few years, he has led local and virtual workshops, including his temporary stint as teaching assistant for the Institute for Anti-Racist Education in summer 2023. In this role, he aided young visual artists and writers in the creation of socially engaged art. He was also fortunate enough to serve with colleague Caitlyn Hunter as one of the inaugural Black Writers in Residence for Chatham. In spring 2023, he accepted a position as a Visiting Lecturer for Pitt’s Writing Department, after teaching for two years at the Community College of Allegheny County. His poems are published in Christianity and Literature Journal, The Laurel Review, Santa Fe Literary Review, The Pittsburgh Neighborhood Guidebook and The Coal Hill Review.
